Located in the heart of the prestigious terroirs of Burgundy, Domaine Taupenot-Merme take its root in Morey Saint Denis. Even though the Domaine was created right after the marriage of Jean Taupenot and Denise Merme in 1963, the vineyards and the connection of the family with the culture of vines and production of wines are linked to a rich, several centuries long history. The origin of the wine family tradition dates back to the 18th century with ancestor Claude, born in 1760, who planted some vines during the Revolution period. Now in hands of the 7th generation, Romain (45) and Virginie (40), the Estate covers 20 appellations in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay mainly over 13Ha including parcels of Grand Cru, Premier Cru and village appellations both in Côte de Nuits (Mazoyères Chambertin, Charmes Chambertin, Clos des Lambrays, …) and Côte de Beaune (Corton, Saint Romain red and white, …).
The goal at Domaine Taupenot-Merme is to produce wines with complex but pure flavors, paying respect to their terroirs. To that end, everything is done in the vineyards and in the winery to get a concentrated fruit to capture that finesse and elegance, which are truly authentic.
